When Should You Hire An SEO Services Company?

The benefits one can take advantage of by hiring the services of an SEO company are undisputed. By optimizing your site for search engines, you can definitely achieve higher placements in search engines which, in turn, means that your site will enjoy more organic traffic and hence better conversions and improved profits. SEO implementation is not exactly rocket science, so with a bit of effort, knowledge and dedication you can try to do it yourself. However, in many cases it is more sensible to leave the task to experts. One mistake here on your part can cost your site dearly. As a sensible business person it makes sense to evaluate the various pros and cons of either doing SEO yourself or of hiring professional SEO consultant services before making the decision.

If you decide to do the SEO of your site yourself, you have the opportunity of learning a lot about running a website. You also have full control over all you want to do on your site. However, the downside of it is that it takes a lot of time and effort to learn to implement SEO effectively on a website. So, if you are short of time or have other business affairs to look after, you might not be able to learn how to implement SEO effectively. In such situations it does make sense to explore the option of getting the help of an SEO services company.

Of course, you have to part with money when hiring SEO consultant services, but it does have some obvious benefits. Hiring such services relieves you of the task of doing SEO yourself and hence you can focus on the other important aspects of your business. The SEO services company you choose will have experienced SEO professionals who know their job inside out; they will have the right knowledge and resources and therefore will be better able to enhance the SERPs of your site. In reality, the money spent on the right SEO services is not actually a cost but an investment, which can give great returns in the long run.

When you consider all these factors you will be able to decide for yourself if you have enough knowledge in SEO matters and if you have the time to carry out the SEO tasks. If not, then it makes sense to hire a professional SEO company to do the job for you.

When hiring an SEO company, always make sure that you choose one that has a good reputation and has some industry presence. You can post queries on popular SEO forums and check out recommendations of companies that have used the services of a particular SEO firm. Cost is another important factor to consider. It doesn’t mean that you have to go with the cheapest one. Instead you should choose one that fits your budget and also has experience of working with businesses like yours. Hiring professional SEO services is perhaps one of the best decisions that you can take for your business; the only thing is that you should hire one only after thorough research and after evaluating their pros and cons.

Why SEO Matters to Your Business Website Part 3 of 5

Optimize your images for better search results

If you’ve been following my SEO mini-series, you’ve learned the benefit of writing your copy before choosing your keywords, and why it’s good to be in the top 10 organic listing. This week, I’ll share how to optimize your images for SEO.

Why is this important? Hardly anyone bothers to spend the time writing keyword rich image tags and alt tags, so companies that do stand a better chance at being found by their ideal clients, plus they will be far ahead of their competition.

Be different. Stand out. Optimize your images.

If you’re like most people, when you land on a web page that contains text and images, you’ll look at the image before reading the content.

Unless your images contain image tags and alt text, search engine robots will never see your images: that’s because images are made up of bits, and search engine robots only read text.

Search engine robots search for and identify text so they can return the closet match to your search terms. If you don’t describe your images, you are throwing away the opportunity to be found, especially if your images are relevant to who you are, what you do, or what you are selling.

How to optimize your images in WordPress

TIP

make sure your file name is descriptive

unless it’s for a web header or background image, your image files should be no more than 600 px wide max and 72 dpi

use dashes between the words (not underscore), lower case only

NO: logo_montagueTimber_frames.png
YES: logo-montague-timber-frames.png

Image Title:

The title is what WordPress uses to track your image, so it’s a very good idea to set the title to something that makes sense.

Image Title TIP: Use keywords in the title and the file’s name.

NO: 01_img_2435.png

YES: logo-montague-timber-frames.png

Image Caption:

The caption is the text that will appear underneath the image. It’s optional, so only fill this in if you want words beneath your photo.

Image Caption TIP: You can also add links to your captions if you want visitors to link back to the original source, or you want to give further information.

Image Alternate Text / Alt Text

This is required by Web Standard: if the image does not appear, the alternate text will appear in its place. Not everyone who visits your website will have the ability to see your images: It might be because their device or their browser doesn’t display images, or it could be because they are visually impaired.

Alt Text TIP: Alternate text should be a description of the image, and it will only appear if you can’t see the image.

Alternate text should be a literal description of your image.
Example: “tree and timber frame fillet silhouette – logo for Montague Timber Frames”
Use no more than 70-80 characters, including spaces.
Image Description

WordPress also gives you the opportunity to describe your images in greater detail, which is important if your images are relevant to who you are, what you do, or what you’re selling.

Example: “Logo brand identity designed for Montague Timber Frames, Montague, MA, USA, by Fields Graphic Design, Leeds, MA: For use on website, company vehicles, business cards, stationery and promotional materials.”

Final Image Optimization Tip

Background images and other non-relevant graphics should be ignored by Google, so just title them with a number (i.e. 05.png; 06.png., etc.) and omit the text fields.

Why Investing in SEO Matters a Lot

Selecting the SEO provider for your website is more complicated than it sounds, nowadays many companies dedicate themselves to it, but the problem lies in the price, some can cost more than $5000 while others can offer you a comfortable price of $200 per month. But, what is the difference? The difference is in the quality and effectiveness of what both providers provide.

There are three different types of SEO providers:

The experienced SEO agencies

Such companies are interested in the brands with which they are associated with! They are looking to develop a long-term business relationship and deliver a return on investment. A large number of analytical data, conversion tracking, and you can expect measurable results when working with one of these providers. It’s a good sign when your digital media agency wants to earn as badly as you.

The SEO Company does not know anything good.

There are plenty of SEO companies that outsource anything and everything they do. Since they are not performing the job, they have zero control of the campaign and are at the mercy of providers, who are not always offering the highest quality work. While it does not mean delivering “amateur strategies,” that’s what they do.

The SEO provider that only seeks to raise money.

These are SEO companies that will tell you what you want to hear. Do you want to rank the number one on Google for the keyword “Google” within 72 hours? It is not a problem! If you pay now, you even get a free bonus – a unicorn and a trip to the Bahamas.

Now it is not so difficult to understand why the quality SEO Company service provider is so expensive. But at the same time, hiring an amateur provider has risks, risks that can lead to ruin or that can bury you deep inside the engines Search your site, what would you do if your website does not appear in Google search at all? Imagine no traffic coming from Google search. Zero. Nothing. If Google determines that a site does not meet its quality guidelines, it will be completely removed from search results.

If the SEO of your brand is in the hands of an SEO Company or team that uses low quality or fraudulent spam techniques, either knowingly or unknowingly, then it is putting your brand at high risk of disappearing from the Google search altogether. Only then you will understand that cheap proved to be more expensive than you thought. You saved a few dollars, but your web will be in big problems. Now, you will have to make a greater investment in suppliers who can clean your site to return to besiege you under Google’s guidelines and the vast majority of engines search.
